VIVA Pratham!!

Pratham had his first ever school concert on Feb 5th. It was named VIVA.

It was a huge affair!! The school grouped classes and had multiple concerts

(incase you are wondering what is this concert well its nothing but school annual gathering/parents' day function)

So Nursery A to E, Jr Kg A-E and Sr Kg A-E had it on this particular day - Pratham is in Nursery A.

The Preparation had been going on for quite sometime. We paid for the costumes some 2 months ago. Although Pratham didnt spill the beans on what he was supposed to do, on one fine day he just said - I am dancing on this song. Ah at the time the radio was playing 'Bam Bam Bole' from Taare Zameen Par. and welllll I knew thats the event!!! After that try as i might he didnt show me the steps. When he would play on his own sometimes he would make the Murali (Flute) actions. It was only towards the advent of the concert date that he actually showed us some of his steps.

I immediately downloaded the Track and he gave us the sneak peek of the dance!!! HURRAH! MY SON CAN DANCE! and hey, he has RHYTHM Toooo.

So the D Day arrived and one hour before the nominated time we were supposed to put him on the school bus, we started the makeup preparations!!! AH we had one bad time. Applying the rose powder and cheek blush was fine . He just loved that but wearing the costume......

ok you guys know that Pratham hates to wear long sleeve and long pants. He is happy wearing shorts and T shirts even on a chilly winter morning!!! and the costume was sleeveless shirt and a golden long pant!!!! What a ruckus we had!! he didnt want to wear it and well eventually we convinced him to wear it with the pant legs folded up!! phewwwwwww and thats how he went to school!!!

In the course of time, i think the pants came to their normal length and when he was on stage we saw that they weren't folded. Thank God for that.

Seeing him on that well lit stage was great, all the tiny tots danced soo well, but ofcourse we had eyes only for Pratham. I was camera happy and Kris was on the camcorder!

The video of the performance is here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9YeD0iuSRE

Pratham on stage

Yesterday, we went visiting some relatives. Incidentally there was a YakshaGana Program to celebrate the yearly anniversary of the Ganesh Temple in that colony. As the artistes were getting ready, the MC called for some games. One particular game was saying the numbers in two languages consecutively. eg one don three chaar....

Pratham ofcourse didnt understand the game , but was insistent that he say numbers on the stage.

SO Off I went with him and when the MC handed the mike to him, he rattled out 1 - 10 in english .

Everyone was appreciative of this, to have a small kid fearlessly say numbers in front of a large crowd of unknown people was pleasing.

What we were happy about is that this was yet another instance when Pratham proved he had no stage fear!!

Atta Boy Pratham!!! muahhhhhhhh
